The question now becomes: can he live up to all the hype? I sure hope so.

But in any case, we Filipinos shouldn't worry. Sec. Dureza says, we are, along with China, the 2 most resilient economies in the East. I suppose it's just a fluke that the equity funds I own are now almost half the value. Hehehe.

AI is coming too! That's American Idol. On the 15th! (Or is the 16th?) And again, I'll be hawking away at youtube, trying to find the clips before it gets taken down.

My 11-day vacation is over.
It was actually too long I almost forgot I even work. Haha.

My family & I, with my lola, my gf and my sister's bf, drove 2 cars up north to the white sandy beaches of Pagudpud. We were not disappointed, the beach was great! We had so much fun "fighting" the waves and losing, and rolling around on the sand. Haha.

We also took photos of the windmills. Awesome clean energy!
We had lunch at Vigan. Passed the Patapat Bridge. Jumped off the northernmost tip of Luzon. (Don't worry, I'll post pictures of this!) And visited relatives in Cagayan.

Kudos! NLEX and SCTEX rock! lol.

It's great to spend time with your loved ones. :D I highly recommend it.
___________________________

PS. I honestly cannot believe that people still go to this blog site. lol.
I mean, I've moved to blogspot almost 2 years ago!
But anyway, this one's a test post just to see how many views it will get.

Happy New Year everyone!

Monday, May 21, 2007

I HAVE MOVED TO BLOGSPOT >>> http://reyjr.blogspot.com <<< Please visit me there and leave a message on my new Shout Box!

Reyjr

We cleaned the house

The house is clean! Wow!

Bryan, Rico and I cleaned House 7 today. Rico did the toilet and his room; Bryan did the kitchen and his room, and I did the living room, the dining room, and my room as well. We also re-arranged some furniture so we can get a good "new" feeling to the space. Cool.

I found a photo of me and Oble taken on my graduation day last year. :D

Friday, May 18, 2007

Random Thoughts and Raves and Rants

The Philippine Senatorial, Congressional and Local Government Elections 2007 had just been completed. Now they are counting the cast ballots, and the politicians are anxiously awaiting to see how effective their schemes were to increase their chances of winning. It's hilarious how some news websites are tallying the votes and classifying hopefuls as "neophyte", "from a political clan", and of course "celebrity". It's really amazing how much our political system has been penetrated by celebrities. My college professor had an interesting take on it. He said that politics is a play, and politicians are actors. They have to show that they care to get people to vote for them. They have to be endearing to the masses, so they sing, they dance, they show off their brains. It has become so much similar to movies and stage plays, musicals even, that we should anymore be surprised if it attracts the REAL actors, the REAL singers.

it's my first time to be on duty. i'm staying for the weekend in Tabangao.

i need to clean my room. :sigh:

Thursday, May 03, 2007

Wednesday, May 02, 2007

Summer Activities

Planting mangroves. :D (in knee deep water)

Playing with man-eating tigers. xp

Monday, April 30, 2007

i have my car back! yay!

:D

Wednesday, April 25, 2007

There is an ongoing discussion in my college e-groups about how the supposed best Mechanical Engineers in the Philippines are not academically competent:

my comments:

sorry to go against the flow, but i think you're missing the point.
yes, UPME was made more difficult than it actually was because of the
professors. no, UPME is NOT an easy course to complete. and the fact
that you completed it makes you damn worthy of that diploma.
also, can you say strictly that you did not "learn" because the profs
did not teach? i would say you learned to look for ways to get the
answers, some in more imaginative ways than most. and just because you
failed a course doesn't mean you did not learn anything.

UP Diliman is still the best university in the Philippines, and a lot
of it comes from the fact that it is simply so. UP changes people. i
don't know, maybe it's living with the fact that you are an "iskolar ng
bayan",
the being around UP students, the "special" treatment you get from
other people just because you're a UP student. also, remember you
don't only take mech engg courses. there are those wonderful GE courses
that make you the well-rounded adults you are today. haha. Career wise, being a UP grad only gets you in the door, it's still up to you to get the job.

and as for success, first, success is a very personal concept. maybe
you see yourself as successful while some would not. maybe some would
call you a sellout.
the important thing is that you enjoy your life and your job.
